PROPERTIES
IBA-VAC ST contains a moderately attenuated strain of Infectious Bursal disease virus, possessing notably invasive properties and able to stimulate an efficacious immune response even in the presence of maternally-dervived antibodies. The virus is cultivated on embrionated eggs of SPF hens and is then suspended in stabilising solution and freeze-dried.
INDICATIONS
IBA-VAC ST is indicated for immunization of broiler chickens, layers and breeders against Infectious Bursal disease.
ADMINISTRATION
Oral.
DOSAGE
Owing to its highly invasive properties, IBA-VAC ST is able to overcome the barrier of maternally derived antibodies at an early age and to spread rapidly and uniformly among vaccinated chicks.
The recommended age for vaccination depends on the level of maternally derived antibodies and the category of chick (broiler, layer) which has to be vaccinated.
Broilers – Broiler chicks must be vaccinated at an age of 8-15 days depending on the maternal antibody level.
With low levels of antibodies, vaccination must be carried out at an age between 8 and 10 days.
Layers – Layers must be vaccinated at an age of 14-18 days depending on the maternal antibody level.
If necessary repeat 1 week later. Vaccination is effected through the drinking water. Immunity is established 10-14 days after vaccination.
The reaction to vaccination cannot be detected clinically.
NOTE
Vial must be burned or disinfected after use.
STORAGE
Store in a refrigerator at +2°C to +8°C (avoid freezing).
